Since our childhood, our mother has told us the stories of sparrows and crows during the meals and the bedtimes. I still remember I used to run around and play with house sparrows in our front yard. My granny used to throw seeds in the yard so that the sparrows can eat it. As a child, I always wanted to keep them close to me. The Nature Forever Society works in the collaboration with Eco-Sys Action Foundation from France. Mohammed Dilawar, an Indian conservationist who founded the Nature Forever Society was working for several years to raise awareness about the importance of conservation of the house sparrow.

The first World Sparrow Day was observed on date 20 March 2010 and since then it is celebrated every year around the world.
