Meri Beti Mera Abhiman – Ek Nayi Shuruvaat: Spread the Message

मेरी बेटी मेरा अभिमान

Paridhi Art Group and Namo Gange Trust are doing an excellent job of spreading the awareness of Prime minister’s “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” mission, they call this campaign “Meri Beti Mera Abhiman – Ek Nayi Shuruvaat” (मेरी बेटी मेरा अभिमान – एक नयी शुरुवात).

Our Indian society is in dire need of such campaigns, still, our society does not treat women equally. Still, women in India don’t get equal pay, they expected to stay in a home, boys get preference in education so and so forth. We are still facing issues of female foeticide, honor killing, rapes, gender inequality and more.

In today’s world, we cannot restrict women to the kitchen. They are as talented, hardworking and smart like men. World have almost 50% of women population, by restricting them, keeping them at home we are not giving them the opportunity to participate in self and world progress.

We need to encourage, take part in campaigns like “Meri Beti Mera Abhiman – Ek Nayi Shuruvaat”. Last year they had Painting/Drawing and Photography Competition on the eve of 70th Independence Day. They also had an Interschool and college street Play Competition (नुक्कड़ नाटक). We expect that this year also they will do the same.

It is good to see that Government Of India uses social media to spread such important message. This week “Meri Beti Mera Abhiman” frame is trending on the Facebook. Thousands of mother using this frame to appreciate their daughters. This is a very innovative idea to spread such important social message.

Girls, Women in India are now entering in all sectors from I.T. to manufacturing, they are winning in Olympics and scoring better in exams than boys. We need to create a safe environment which will provide women more employment opportunities. We, as a nation need to find new means and ways to empower women. Now we see women driving taxis, some are bus conductors etc, we need to open more and more such opportunities for them.

They are equally talented, they have a hunger for success, we as a society need to give then opportunity to come forward, they themselves can take it forward from there. Let’s hope that one day no matter what one’s gender is, they will same opportunities and rights to live freely and succeed.

We have written this article so that young minds like you will read it and think about it. You can also become a volunteer to help them in spreading the message. So, guys think and act on it. You can share your opinion down in the comment box.
