And if you want to make the tassels for you by yourself then here are some easy steps which will help you make leather tassels.

Required Material

For making a leather tassel you will need:

  • A piece of fine, thin and soft leather
  • Leather strip
  • Scissor
  • Ruler
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Fabric Glue
  • Rubber Band

Steps for making the Leather Tassel

Step 1:

Take the piece of leather of your choice. Cut the piece in a rectangular shape. You can keep the length and width of the leather as per your need, let’s say the size of the leather piece be 3.5cm x 7cm.

Step 2:

Draw a horizontal line with the pen or pencil at the top of the leather piece with 2cm margin. While drawing the line, make sure you are drawing it on the inner side of the leather piece. The shiny side of leather will be the outer side.

Step 3:

Now, draw vertical lines on a complete leather piece, perpendicular to the line drawn in step 2. Keep the distance between all vertical lines of 0.5cm.

Step 4:

Cut the leather piece on the vertical lines drawn on it to the horizontal line. This will make the fringes needed for your tassel.

Step 5:

Take the single strip of leather and stick its ends to each other with the help of fabric glue. Make sure this single strip leather will be of the same size as the fringes. This strip is the loop for your leather tassel.

Step 6:

Now, stick the loop strip at the left-side upper corner of the leather piece with the help of glue.

Step 7:

Roll the leather piece with keeping the loop strip at inner side. take help of glue for sticking the roll tightly.

Step 8:

Place the rubber band on top of the tassel for making the bond tight.

Step 9:

After some time, remove the rubber band and your tassel is ready to use.

Step 10:

You can attach the leather tassel made by you to any of your handbag, keyring or keychain, clutch, bracelet, loafers and much more.
