The JEE main (Joint Entrance Exam) is a national level exam conducted in India. The JEE main exam previously went by the name AIEEE which stands for All India Engineering Entrance Examination. It is used as a standard of skill for entry into various B.Tech programmes in a large number of B.Tech colleges and universities all over India. These cutoffs will decide whether a student can get into the B.Tech courses offered by top B.Tech colleges. A student with a higher JEE main score will have a chance of being admitted to their desired B.Tech course in a more prestigious B.Tech college in India. As of 2017, the cutoff for students from the general category was a JEE main score of 81; Those for SC/ST (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe) was a JEE main score of 32 and 27 respectively. The cutoff for OBCs (Other Backward Classes) was around 49.
